PERFORMANCE: Hillingdon Hospital Foundation Trust’s figures have been skewed by one patient who has attended 158 times since April 1st 2011 - nearly once a day.

Although improved, the latest figures for the north west London hospital show an unplanned re-attendance of 6.5 per cent.

The October performance report said: “A detailed analysis has been undertaken of the patients that frequently attend A&E and this exercise identified ten patients, one of which has attended 158 times since 1st April 2011. If these 10 patients were excluded from the data the re-attendance rate would drop to 4.6 per cent.”

It added: “We continue to work with LAS and our partner organisations on individual care plans for our most frequent attenders to ensure alternative care is available to support them in the community.”
