STRUCTURE: Robert Jones and Agnes Orthopaedic and District Hospital Trust has become the latest to gain foundation status.
Chief executive Wendy Farrington Chadd said: “Achieving foundation trust status has been based on the work and contribution of everyone in the trust and I would like to express my thanks for that.
“Becoming authorised as an NHS foundation trust is a huge achievement for the hospital – the assessment standards set by Monitor are extremely high and we have met these criteria in demonstrating that we are financially viable, meeting the highest quality standards and are well governed in terms of our ability to manage our own hospital.”
Located in Oswestry on the Shropshire and North Wales border, the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust serves a local population in Shropshire, Wales, Cheshire and the West Midlands of approximately 1.8 million, with a customer base extending both nationally and internationally.
A specialist orthopaedic hospital, the trust provides elective orthopaedic surgery and musculo-skeletal medical services, as well as particular areas of expertise including spinal injuries and disorders affecting muscular development.
