WORKFORCE: The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust on Merseyside has appointed an HR specialist as its new chief executive.
The specialist neurosciences centre has recruited Liz Mear from the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals, where she was director of human resources and organisational development.
Ms Mear previously worked at Greater Manchester West NHS Foundation Trust as director of governance and HR, and acted as chief executive during 2006.
She has also worked at Tees, East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service as director of operations and HR, and has held a variety of senior customer service roles within local government and social care.
She said: “I am delighted and very proud to take the helm of The Walton Centre.
“The Trust’s reputation is first class and I am looking forward to playing a part in providing the best possible care for patients, alongside cutting edge research and education to keep us at the forefront of neurosciences.”
