PERFORMANCE: United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust is an outlier for its hospital standardised mortality rate performance.

United Lincolnshire’s rolling 12 month HSMR score from August 2011 to July 2012 is 108.7. This means eight per cent more patients died than would have been expected at the trust.

The rolling 12 month figures for HSMR at the trusts three hospitals show the worst performer is Lincoln County Hospital with a HSMR of 111.2.

Pilgrim Hospital in Boston is 109.4.

Grantham and District Hospital has an HSMR of 98.2.

A performance report to the trust board said: “The HSMR for Lincoln and Pilgrim sites is significantly higher than expected.”
