PERFORMANCE: University Hospital Southampton fell short of its accident and emergency waiting time target in March.
Ninety-two per cent of patients waited more than four hours in the emergency department, against a target of 95 per cent.
The trust has implemented a range of measure to deal with the issue.
These include: daily meetings; a daily internal review of breaches; reviewing its elective programme and its impact on emergency pathways; and opening an extra 24 overnight beds.
