PERFORMANCE: Heart of England Foundation Trust met its overall waiting lists target despite trauma and orthopaedics and general surgery lagging behind the 18 week performance standard.

The trust is required to have waits of 18 weeks or less for a minimum of 92 per cent of patients in all specialisms.

General surgery was amber rated, with performance of 91.4 per cent of patients waiting 18 weeks or less.

Trauma and orthopaedics was red rated, with 13 per cent of patients waiting more than 18 weeks.

Solihull CCG board papers said: “From April 2013, Solihull CCG is imposing mandatory penalties as specified in the 2013-14 NHS Standard Contract for any specialties that fail to achieve the national operating standard of 92 per cent.”
