PERFORMANCE: University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire is reporting a rise in delayed transfers of care, with part of the problem blamed on council funding
The trust reported a figure of 5.56 per cent – significantly over the target of 3.5 per cent or less.
The trust’s performance report lists the following “specific issues at present”:
“No nursing home capacity in Rugby at all and no care homes willing to accept standard local authority funding (minimum top up £140 per week)
“Delays in providing patients with ‘home care services’ (known as DSSTS) PCT have commissioned increased hours to support this issue in the last few weeks
“Significant patients waiting for Intermediate care assessment.”
