PERFORMANCE: Delayed transfers of care at University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire Trust fell for three months in a row during the summer, but are still significantly above target.
The trust’s delayed transfers of care percentage rate for August was 4.56 per cent, against a target of 3.5 per cent or less.
This is down from 4.95 per cent in July and 5.55 per cent in June.
A September report said: “Home care support is consistently a significant issue in our DTOC figures. The trust is referring between 6-8 patients per day to the service that it is unable to cope with.
“A further 100 hours have been commissioned by social care to further drive down the numbers but this is only a short term solution.”
Delayed transfers were identified as a “red” indicator in the trust’s performance framework.
