FINANCE: Western Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is to receive extra government funding for new equipment.

Prime minister David Cameron announced on 6 March that around £330m of extra funding would be spent on providing “state of the art” equipment and facilities to improve services for patients.

Western Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust will be the recipient of £0.4m of this, which it is set to receive before the end of the financial year.

According to the Department of Health, it is scheduled to be spent on “additional ophthalmology equipment for Southlands Hospital”.
