Western Sussex acute trust slips on MRSA control

One avoidable case of MRSA was reported during September followed by two in October.

As a result, the trust is now above its year-to-date limit, which the board agreed was “disappointing”.

It has raised the risk register rating for the MRSA limit from 12 to 16, “until such time as performance in this area improved”.

Trust officers have also started working with colleagues in East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust, which was MRSA-free in the year-to- date, to identify any further action that can be taken.
