STRUCTURE: Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust is set to apply for foundation trust status in May 2011, according to its strategic health authority.
NHS South East Coast board papers said Western Sussex Hospitals will make its submission to the Department of Health on 1 May 2011.
The papers state: “The trust is currently out to public consultation. The trust requested a three month extension to the timeline to allow them to further embed a number of procedures following merger.”
