COMMERCIAL: Wakefield PCT is hoping to set up a new breastfeeding service to support new mothers across Wakefield.

It has tendered for a three year contract which it says will be worth around £1m.  The successful provider will need to support the PCT and local health economy organisations “in the promotion of breastfeeding and the benefits it provides”.

The service will provide breastfeeding peer support during the antenatal and postnatal period, either at home or in a variety of settings including children’s centres, primary care settings and well being centres.
