WORKFORCE: West Suffolk Foundation Trust has employed its own plastic surgeons due to increasing demand.

Radovan Boca and Andrew Snelling will operate on both adults and children, offering reconstruction after surgery or cancer treatment, the trust said in a statement. They are seeing between 30 and 40 patients a week and operate on around 30 patients.

They expect their work to initially involve a lot of skin cancer surgery but over time will develop the service so that patients no longer have to travel to other hospitals. The trust used to rely on consultants from Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge who would travel to West Suffolk.
