WORKFORCE: Chief executive Lucy Moore’s last day at the north-east London trust was 25 March, following her appointment as integration director for the merger programme with Barts and the London and Newham University Hospital trusts.

In a report to the board, she said: “This is a full time role and I will therefore be working away from the trust for the period of my secondment into this post. Today is my last day at Whipps Cross and, whilst I am sad to leave the trust, I take pride in our achievements in recent years and I would wish to thank all of our staff for supporting me in this work.

She added: “I will retain contact with many of my colleagues in my new role, and I look forward to working to developing a new organisation that will secure the future of our hospital and offer an enhanced service to our catchment population.”

Director of nursing Cathy Geddes will be acting chief executive at Whipps Cross until April 2012, when the trust expects to have merged following the submission of the merger’s outline business case in May.
