WORKFORCE: Wirral University Teaching Hospitalls is planning to invest £1m in recruiting registered nurses over the next 12 months.
The trust said it expects to increase the numbers of qualified nurses and midwives at its Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals by at least 24 full-time posts.
A trust spokeswoman said it was hoping to recruit from the UK but expected to undertake some overseas recruitment.
The investment comes after the trust spent £1.5m on additional nursing staff in 2014-15.
It has also committed funds to “nurturing existing staff to further develop their nursing skills” to enhance the skill level of nurses on its inpatient wards.
