Health service staff have the chance to rate their employer in a major new set of awards launched this week.

The Healthcare 100, run jointly by HSJ and its sister title Nursing Times, will seek to identify the top healthcare employers in the country.

NHS Employers joint acting director Alastair Henderson said: “The awards give staff across the country the chance to vote for trusts they believe are excellent employers and deserve recognition.

“Good employment practice is vital to recruiting and maintaining the very best staff in the NHS.

“These awards also allow other trusts to learn from trusts who have demonstrated best practice.”

Ipsos Mori will poll organisations and their staff to find out what services and facilities each organisation offers to its workforce and how managers and clinicians feel about working there.

The survey includes the independent and voluntary sectors as well as NHS organisations.

The final results will be unveiled in the spring.
