A leading locum agency has suspended two senior executives pending an investigation into “serious accounting irregularities”.
Healthcare Locums executive vice chair Kate Bleasdale, who founded the company in 2003, and chief financial officer Diane Jarvis have both been suspended.
The investigation is to consider the financial implications of “irregularities” brought to the attention of the board.
Company shares were suspended from trading last week and the board has said it “has strong reason to believe” financial performance in 2010 will be below market expectations. The agency supplies doctors, nurses, clerical staff and allied health professionals across the UK.
A spokesman said: “We can confirm absolutely that the business is running as normal and operations are unaffected. All payments to clients, locums and suppliers are being made as normal and the investigation and suspension of shares does not in any way reflect the way the business is run.”
