David Probert, the chief executive of Moorfields Eye Hospital Foundation Trust, was among the panellists for an HSJ webinar that explored what a growing need for remote working means for the NHS.

James Reed, chief clinical information officer at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health FT, and Mark Davies, chief medical officer EMEA at IBM, completed the panel for the event.

It took place on Thursday, 10 September from 10.30am to 11.15am.

The covid-19 pandemic has presented a situation in which most people who do not need to work on a specific site have been asked to work from home – and that includes those employed by NHS organisations. With the virus likely to be around for some time, an increased need to support remote and new ways of working is likely to continue. During the webinar, run in association with IBM, the panel discussed how NHS organisations will need to respond to a continuing need for flexible and remote working.

The session was chaired by HSJ contributor Claire Read.
