NHS Improvement has appointed a new director of procurement transformation and commercial delivery, HSJ understands.

Preeya Bailie, who has worked as NHSI’s chief procurement officer since July 2018, has taken on the role. She previously worked as associate director of procurement at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Trust.

Ms Bailie is due to start the new position on Monday.

Ms Bailie joined NHSI under Michael Hyne, then acting director of procurement and corporate services. He left NHSI in May for Deloitte.

The body had recently awarded Deloitte a £400,000 contract. NHSI, which is effectively merging with NHS England, previously told HSJ the move was not in breach of its corporate policy.
