- Jinjer Kandola will run Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust and Camden and Islington FT
- Angela McNab to leave Camden and Islington for regional transformation role
Two trusts in north London are set to share a chief executive.
Jinjer Kandola, chief executive of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust, is to take over from Angela McNab at Camden and Islington Foundation Trust this autumn.
The trusts already have a joint chair.
Ms McNab will leave the trust after nearly six years to become the joint senior responsible officer for the London mental health transformation programme. A former director of public health, delivery and performance at the Department of Health, Ms McNab oversaw CIFT’s rise from a CQC rating of “requires improvement” to “good” during her time in the top job.
Ms Kandola, who was appointed CEO of BEHT in July 2018, will take up her new position in October. BEHT is the seventh-largest of London’s ten mental health trusts by income, with CIFT the ninth – ahead of only the specialist provider, Tavistock and Portman FT.
Jackie Smith, chair of both BEHT and CIFT, said: “While we are extremely sorry to see Angela leave, Jinjer’s appointment is a hugely positive move for both our organisations…
“A single chief executive, across both our organisations, will identify our wider, immediate priorities and ensure we work together seamlessly, reducing barriers and speeding up improvements.”
Sir David Sloman, regional director for the NHS in London, said: “Jinjer’s appointment is great news and will bring a wealth of experience to CIFT, and moves forward plans to work in collaboration to improve the mental health and wellbeing of local people.
“Angela leaves a fantastic legacy at the trust and will be a brilliant leader of the London mental health transition programme.”
