PERFORMANCE: The acute trust went up in the performance ranking system used by West Midlands strategic health authority at the most recent evaluation.
The SHA assesses acute trusts against ambulance handover time, A&E waits, cancer and healthcare acquired infections.
Hereford Hospitals Trust was red-rated in only one category, cancer, and reported that 76.8 per cent of ambulance turnaround times took less than half an hour.
The SHA’s ranking put only Burton Hospitals, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic and The Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust above Hereford in the region.
