Wye Valley Trust has issued an “urgent appeal” for people with diarrhoea and vomiting to stay away from the County Hospital, in Hereford after a spike in the number of patients presenting with symptoms.

Over the weekend the hospital has recorded increasing numbers of people turning up with suspected norovirus, prompting the trust to advise people to stay away.

It has issued a statement advising patients with symptoms not to visit their GP or A&E for fear of spreading the virus.
