WORKFORCE: The chair of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in the UK and a former executive from John Lewis are among four new non-executive directors appointed at Yeovil District Hospital.
Paul von der Heyde, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, is chair of the British Furniture Confederation and chair of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in the UK.
Maurice Dunster was director of organisational development at the John Lewis Partnership and is a a director and trustee of the John Lewis Partnership Pension Fund.
The third appointment is Mark Saxton, a UK Chartered Director who was group executive human resources director of Arriva PLC, which employs 38,000 staff across Europe. He has also held senior roles at Cadbury Schweppes and Blue Bell Inc.
The fourth vacancy will be filled in June 2013 by Jane Henderson, who will be joining Yeovil District Hospital’s clinical governance committee in the meantime. She is chief executive of the South West Regional Development Agency and a board member of Bath Spa University. She is a former regional director of the Government Office for the South West and director of finance and funding for the Higher Education Funding Council for England.
The new team will replace Amanda Ellingworth and Alexander Russell who are coming to the end of their term of office next month and John Buckley and Gill Waldron who will be stepping down next year at the end of their terms of office.
The board agreed to appoint to the four posts rather than run two recruitment campaigns.
