WORKFORCE: Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Health Care Trust’s chief executive has stepped down and joined nearby Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust as director of service transformation.

Richard Sunley has stepped down at Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Healthcare Trust temporarily to “enable York to move forward with its plans to enter into a partnership” with a foundation trust, according to a press statement.

The trust is developing plans to form a close partnership with York Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust, which could eventually lead to a merger with the foundation trust.

Since 7 March, Mr Sunley has been on secondment at Hull and East Yorkshire Trust.
