PERFORMANCE: Patients who require non-emergency transport to hospital with Yorkshire Ambulance Service often arrive early or late for their appointments.

A report to the trust showed red ratings for performance for the patient transport services in different parts of the trust’s area, with some arriving more than 90 mins early for appointments or more than an hour late – or facing a long wait before their journey home. The trust faces penalties for some of these breaches.

The trust attributes some of the problems down to wider issues – citing similar issues to those experience by its emergency service – but has launched a review of what it says was ‘disappointing’ performance.
