Ms Webster has been deputy director of nursing for the trust since the integration of acute and community services last year, and has been interim director since May of this year.

She was previously associate director of nursing for East Sussex Community Health Services.

She takes over from Jane Hentley who left the trust in May to work for the South West London primary care trust cluster.

Ms Webster said: “As director of nursing I will continue to ensure that patients are at the heart of everything that we do and that the local population has confidence in the organisation.

“Staff working in both acute and community settings should be able to take pride in their achievements whilst meeting future challenges and feel supported in all that they do.”

Prior to moving to East Sussex 12 years ago, she worked in Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester holding clinical posts in acute and community settings.
