NHS Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes PCT moves to East Midlands SHA

STRUCTURE: NHS Milton Keynes has moved from the South Central strategic health authority area to the East Midlands, as it forms a cluster with neighbouring NHS Northamptonshire.

At its 31 March meeting, the trust’s board was asked to note: “From April 1, 2011, the East Midlands financial control total will include the NHS allocation to NHS Milton Keynes, and that financial and other performance management of NHS Milton Keynes will be undertaken by East Midlands SHA.”

The primary care trust was originally going to form a cluster with Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire primary care trusts.

However, board papers show that the link-up with NHS Northamptonshire has been approved by the South Central and East Midlands strategic health authorities, and the Department of Health, with written confirmation pending.

East Midlands SHA is leading the process to establish the cluster’s single management team.
