Absolutely the correct action! The ambulance service needs modernisation, the public and patients must realise that an empty station costs wasted money (it is a garage), money that can be best spent in other areas of patient health. The MP from Basset Law John Mann obviously has reacted to the headline grabber (I wonder if it is election time!) and not the rationale behind the closures or the Hub and Spoke Model of delivery that provides, not only cleaner vehicles (Following deep clean preparation) but vehicles ready for crews at start of shift (saving hours of lost productivity each day), reducing the time needed by crews to get the vehicle ready for the road. This is not just EMAS but this will also happen cross the UK, and I no! I don’t work in EMAS or any ambulance trust but do understand the proposal, rationale, concept and the need. Well done EMAS management for rising to the changing needs of the population and demand, yours, a patient who would be affected by this.
