Report comment

The report should be sensitive to the sufferings and patients and their families, but I can't see the need to spare the tender egos of those who presided over unsafe care systems for so long.

Mid Staffs needs to start rebuilding a damaged reputation and I can't see how further delay would benefit either interest. The report has to command public confidence and delay just makes it look as if it's being 'doctored'.

As for politicians, you can bet the conference season isn't interesting enough to bury that much bad news!
