Having just gone through a very long winded inquest in which it was clear nursing staff failed to provide any clear indication of the seriousness of my mothers illness and indeed their comments totally misled us,I would hope that a 'duty of candour'would improve the situation.This will however require a major shift in attiitude and a willingness by senior staff to drive this shift.
