PERFORMANCE: The trust had four unjustified breaches of the national bar on mixed sex accomodation in March, commissioner board papers show.
The latest performance report for NHS Merseyside states: “The breaches at Aintree occurred as a result of delayed discharges from Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Non-invasive Ventilation (NIV) and patient flow.
It added that the trust’s elimination of mixed sex accommodation plan had been developed for the 2012-13 contract year and the trust had “provided assurance
measures which are currently being implemented to eliminate mixed sex accommodation”.
Discussions were “taking place between NHS Merseyside and Aintree” about financial penalties.
