PERFORMANCE: The number of overdue patient safety alerts outstanding for the trust has dropped to four, according to latest central alerting system data.

Data extracted from the system on 20 September shows that Aintree had yet to complete actions in relation to the following alerts:

  • Early identification of failure to act on radiological imaging reports
  • Minimising risks of suprapubic catheter insertion (adults only)
  • Safer spinal (intrathecal), epidural and regional devices Part A: update
  • Minimising risks of mismatching spinal, epidural and regional devices with incompatible connectors

The completion deadlines for the first two alerts were 2008 and 2010, respectively. The latter two both had deadlines of April 2012.
