WORKFORCE: The foundation trust has performed well on workforce indicators, but narrowly missed its yearly target for staff appraisals.

According to latest board papers, 11 of the 12 trust’s workforce performance indicators for 2010-11 were green.

The papers stated: “The only amber indicator was staff appraisals where the trust had made a significant achievement of 92 per cent coverage only marginally underachieving its 95 per cent target.”

It was also noted that the trust had exceeded the annual target of increasing the number of key findings in the National Staff Attitude Survey which were in the top 20 per cent, from three to a year end performance of 18 key findings in the top 20 per cent.

Additionally, the sickness rate at ASPH was 2.93 per cent in February. The average rate for the year to date from April 2010 to February 2011 was 3.31 per cent which was below the South East Coast target of 3.5 per cent for the year.

Vacancy levels had continued to decrease, ending the year in target at 8.8 per cent.
