FINANCE: Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals Trust is predicting ending this financial year with a £16.4m deficit.

The £350m-turnover north London hospital trust’s plan includes it making savings of £17.5m and making the efficiency savings in the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Clinical Strategy, which involves transferring around £50m-worth of services to North Middleses University Hospitals Trust.

The report said: “The plan assumes transitional funding of £9.2m. Discussions with the relevant commissioners are taking place to agree the process and access to funding.”

It added: “The 2013-14 plan includes a reduction in income of £41m and a cost reduction of £24m.”
