End Game’s congratulations to Nick Seddon, who has been propelled from introspective think-tankery as the deputy director of Reform, to the heady position of advisor on health and social care policy to the prime minister.

Mr Seddon – a former communications director for private health provider Circle – is media savvy.

We are already enjoying his work – including this rather matter of fact retort in a newspaper piece highlighting some of his past comments about the NHS (extend charges, reduce workforce, replace nurses with automatons):

“Asked by the Evening Standard if he would be advising the PM to impose patient charges and NHS cuts, Mr Seddon said his work had yet to be clarified.  ‘I’m hugely excited about the broad scope of the role,’ he said. ‘The exact work I do will be for Jo Johnson and the PM to clarify.’”
