FINANCE: The foundation trust’s in-year deficit had increased to £11.3m by the end of October, according to its latest finance report.
The report said the deficit was £4m worse than planned to that point in the financial year.
It added that the “main area of concern” continued to be the trust’s budget for clinical supplies, which was overspent by £2.5m – or 27 per cent – for the year to date.
It stated that “whilst some of the overspend can be attributed to increased activity this does not account for the full variance”.
