FINANCE: Bradford and District Care Trust had a surplus of just over £2m at the end of February - £600,000 ahead of plan.

This was due to underspending against operational budgets and delivery of cost improvement plans, and the trust says it has been able to use this position to bring forward some CIP plans.

It has decided to use the unexpected money to fund restructuring plans rather than delivering a higher surplus for 2012-13.

However, it has spent more on agency staffing than it planned.
