COMMERCIAL: The Bristol Clinical Commissioning Group and NHS Bristol have agreed a 12 month extension to a contract for a community deep vein thrombosis service in the northern areas of the city.

The service is run by GP Care and the contract is worth about £160,000 a year.

A paper to September’s board said: “Deep Vein Thrombosis services are currently being reviewed as part of the [PCT cluster] ambulatory care plan by the urgent care teams. However, the GP Care contract extension needs to be decided to bridge the gap before the longer term plans are developed and decided upon.”
