FINANCE: Buckinghamshire’s attempts to reduce activity were off target due to quality, innovation, productivity and prevention plan slippages.
The county’s QIPP plan was forecasting a £6.4m under performance at year end, mitigated to £160,000 after “the application of contract agreements”.
About a third of the total CCG QIPP target is expected to be met through “mitigation”, which includes non-recurrent funding.
The shortfall was mainly due to shortfalls in “right care” and “ImPACT” programmes.
“Significant risk remains in ensuring delivery of activity reductions across all programmes”, board papers said.
However, the prescribing programme has achieved double its savings target.
The board papers said: “Activity targets are off trajectory at month nine, linked to under performance in QIPP schemes.
