FINANCE: Cambridge University Hospitals Foundation Trust has reduced its budget deficit, its finance director told the board this month.

The Trust’s October board papers said its cumulative position was now a deficit of £0.8m, an improvement of £1.4m against budget year to date.

The papers said: “The performance to date represents an increase in income of 5% against the same period last year whilst expenditure has increased by 3%. This is encouraging.”
