PERFORMANCE: Cambridge University Hospitals FT’s delayed transfers of care permance has slipped, according to its strategic health authority.

A performance report by NHS East of England said delayed transfers of care across the region “have worsened in January 2011, reflecting winter pressures experienced, however this is not a significant deterioration”.

But it said Cambridge UHFT’s reported position, ranked 16 of the providers in the region for January, was “disappointing as it has slipped from 4.0 [delayed transfers of care] DTOC [occupied bed days] OBDs in November to 26.4 reported in January”.

It added: “Hinchingbrooke remains the worst ranked trust in the region on this indicator. Given the previous action plans in place across the system to address this issue, the pace of progress is disappointing.”
