WORKFORCE: Cambridge University Health Partners has appointed John Bradley as its director of research.

Dr Bradley is currently a consultant renal physician and director of research and development, at Cambridge University Hospitals Foundation Trust.

He also sits on the Health’s renal advisory group, and is the director of studies in medicine at Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge.

Cambridge University Health Partners is one of six academic health science centres across England, designated by the Department of Health as being the top NHS and university alliances in the country.

It is a partnership between the University of Cambridge, Cambridge University Hospitals, Cambridge and Peterborough Foundation Trust and Papworth Hospital.

Dr Bradley said he was “delighted to be taking on the role”.

“The relocation of Papworth Hospital and expansion of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus uniquely positions the partnership to drive innovation in internationally leading biomedical science and clinical research.

“This integration of research across disciplines on a single site is offered in very few settings worldwide, and provides exceptional opportunities to translate research into benefit for patients.”
