FINANCE: Cambridge University Hospitals Foundation Trust made a loss of £1.8m in the first two months of the financial year.
Although its income was £2m greater than expected, pay and non pay costs were £2.5m higher than plan and it only realised half of the planned recurrent cost improvement savings.
A report to the council of governors identified capacity constraints as preventing the trust reaching a close to breakeven position. 252 operations had to be cancelled in April and May.
