A member of the coalition government’s health team is one of a number of Liberal Democrat ministers caught in a sting over their opinion of high ranking Tories.
Prime minister David Cameron’s sincerity was questioned and chancellor George Osborne was said to “get up one’s nose” by Liberal Democrat members of the coalition government secretly taped by undercover reporters posing as voters.
The Daily Telegraph quoted care minister Paul Burstow as saying: “I don’t want you to trust David Cameron… in the sense that you believe he’s suddenly become a cuddly Liberal. Well, he hasn’t.
“He’s still a Conservative and he has values that I don’t share.”
Other Liberal Democrat ministers caught up in the row include local government minister Andrew Stunell, transport minister Norman Baker and deputy leader of the Commons David Heath.
