Media Watch reported that according to the Mail on Sunday, NHS North East spent £150,000 on cardboard nurses.
Campaign costs were misreported in the Mail, which has apologised to us and has withdrawn the story from its websites.
As part of a wider investment the campaign includes radio advertising, bus-sides, posters, information leaflets for visitors and patients, mirror stickers and life-size cutouts of staff. Numerous frontline NHS employees have been involved.
