PERFORMANCE: A Care Quality Commission report has found one minor concern around essential standards of care at Colchester Hospital University Foundation Trust but otherwise given the trust a clean bill of health.
The minor concern around mandatory training was highlighted following an unannounced inspection in November. However, the CQC commented that the trust had made significant improvements to address issues around nutrition and dignity identified in an earlier inspection.
Trust chief executive Gordon Coutts said: “Earlier this year we started a programme called At Our Best to inspire, support and develop all staff to consistently deliver the very best patient experience. Although there are other areas that we can improve, our progress this year – and this report – gives us confidence that the programme is working.
“I am confident that this review by the CQC will inspire us and all of our staff to work towards achieving that goal.”
