Care services minister Phil Hope opted to address Princess Anne as “Your Highness”. However, shadow minister for health and social care Stephen O’Brien opted for “Ma’am”.
Liberal Democrat health and social care spokesman Paul Burstow came down on the Labour side, opting to use “Your Highness”, suggesting there would be unity on forms of royal address under a Labour/Liberal Democrat hung parliament.
