FINANCE: The foundation trust has warned that the, as yet unconfirmed, long-term commissioning intentions of pathfinder clinical commissioning groups may force it to make “significant workforce reductions”.

The COCH’s newly published three year plan states: “The consortia are yet to finalise longer term commissioning plans, these may manifest as even greater reductions in funding.”

It warns: “Greater cost reduction targets may be required though this will inevitably mean significant workforce reductions.

“Once services are identified and the implications for patients understood we will work with joint collaboration partnerships to do this as painlessly as possible.”
