COMMERCIAL: Coventry and Warwickshire mental health trust is hoping to take on provision of substance misuse services in the region to go with a contract it has just won for Leicestershire and Rutland.

The chief executive’s report to the trust’s April board meeting said that, in partnership with the charity Swanswell, the Coventry and Warwickshire trust has “been sucessful in its bid for Substance Misuse Services (non criminal justice settings for adults and young people) across Leicestershire and Rutland”.

It said the contract is due to commence in July 2011 and the trust will be providing services for young people and a needle exchange facility.

It also said the trust was tendering documents for substance misuse services in Coventry and Warwickshire were “in the process of completion with continuing regular meetings with Swanswell, which the trust is working in partnership with in relation to the delivery of this comprehensive service”.
