FINANCE: Coventry and Warwickshire mental health trust has reported a risk to the income of a learning disability service due to vacant beds.

The trust’s financial plan said: “There is a significant risk to the level of income (estimated between £1.2m and £1.9m) relating to Brooklands Learning Disabilities Inpatient Services. This is due to a number of clients that will be discharged prior to the 31st March 2011, and a number of vacant beds.”

It said the services “need to ensure that there are new clients identified over the coming weeks in order to achieve the required level of income during 2011-12 and ensure a balanced income and expenditure position”.
